Online Address Update Process for Aadhaar

An Aadhaar card is a centralised and universal identifying number that is issued to every citizen of India. The Aadhar card is a biometric document that maintains an individual’s information in a government database, and it is quickly becoming the government’s primary source of information for public welfare and citizen services.

Background of Aadhaar

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), a national government organisation, came up with the notion of assigning unique numbers to each person of the country after collecting and storing their biometric values in early 2010.The Aadhaar number is a 12-digit number that is unique.

The Aadhaar card contains the 12-digit number, as well as the cardholder’s fingerprint and other credentials. UIDAI intended to tie the Aadhaar number to banks, subsidies, and even mobile phone connections.Aadhaar is now the world’s largest single identifying initiative.

A person can only have one Aadhaar number, according to the law. The technology is robust enough to detect anyone attempting to obtain a second Aadhaar number. If the system recognizes that a set of biometric values already exists in its database, it will not give a new number. Do not attempt to obtain a second Aadhaar card.

The Benefits of having an Aadhaar

There are numerous advantages, but listing them all may be redundant. So, these are the main reasons why Aadhaar is such a reliable identifying system.

Digitally signing legal documents

  • This is one of the most valuable features of the Aadhaar card.
  • If you have an Aadhaar card and a mobile number associated with it, you can eSign legal documents remotely by entering an OTP issued to your registered cellphone number.
  • Anywhere in India, such an eSign will be legitimate and enforceable.

Open a Bank Account

  • Previously, a consumer had to provide a slew of paperwork, each having its own purpose, in order to open a bank account.
  • If you have an Aadhaar card, you’ll simply need that and the smallest amount of cash to create a bank account anyplace in India.
  • When you link your bank account to Aadhaar, you gain a lot of benefits.

Provisional Fund

If you register your Aadhaar number with the Employee Provident Fund Organization, or EPFO, the PF payment will be credited straight to the Aadhaar cardholder, making an otherwise complicated process much easier.

Subsidy and LPG Connections

If you enter your Aadhaar number when applying for a gas connection, the LPG subsidy amount is instantly deposited to the bank account number associated with your Aadhaar. If you already have a connection, simply show your LPG dealer a copy of your Aadhaar card.
