A Producer Organisation (PO)\u00a0 is a\u00a0 lawful body formed\u00a0 by primary\u00a0 producers,\u00a0 &#8220;producer&#8221; means according\u00a0 to section\u00a0 378A (k)\u00a0 of The Companies\u00a0 (Amendment) Act, 2020 \u2018Chapter\u00a0 XXIA\u00a0 (Producer Companies\u00a0 Part I) or according to section 581A (k) of Part IXA of Indian Companies Act, 1956, as modified in 2013, any person involved in\u00a0 any task connected with or related to any\u00a0 primary\u00a0 produce;\u00a0 primary\u00a0 producers like\u00a0 farmers(growers),\u00a0 milk producers,\u00a0 fishermen,\u00a0 weavers,\u00a0 rural\u00a0 artisans,\u00a0 craftsmen\u00a0 [2]\u00a0 and\u00a0 &#8220;primary produce&#8221;\u00a0 means\u00a0 according\u00a0 to\u00a0 the\u00a0 section378A\u00a0 (j)\u00a0 of\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Companies (Amendment) Act, 2020<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> chapter XXIA (Producer Companies Part I) [3] or section 581A (j) of Part IXA\u00a0 of Indian Companies Act,\u00a0 1956, as modified in\u00a0 2013\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to the 378A of The Companies (amendment) Act, 2020 act, A body corporate with the goals or duties listed in section 378B that has been registered\u00a0 as a producer company (PC)\u00a0 under this Act\u00a0 or\u00a0 the Companies\u00a0 Act, 1956 is referred to as\u00a0 a producer company\u00a0 (PC) or A\u00a0 body corporate with the goals or duties listed\u00a0 in section 581B\u00a0 that has been registered\u00a0 as a\u00a0 producer company (PC) under Part IXA of Indian Companies Act, 1956, as modified in 2013.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"Advantages of Farmer Producer Companies\"><b>Advantages of Farmer Producer Companies<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The following are the benefits of a Farmer Producer Company:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Following\u00a0 are the\u00a0 list\u00a0 of\u00a0 benefits rendered\u00a0 by\u00a0 the\u00a0 Farmer Producer\u00a0 Company\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(FPC) in India:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Deposit Acceptance :<\/strong> The established law permits the Producer Company to accept a deposit in <\/span>the form of a fixed deposit or a recurring deposit.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Loan against Security :<\/strong> Farmer\u00a0 Producer companies\u00a0 (FPC)\u00a0 are\u00a0 legally\u00a0 permitted to\u00a0 function\u00a0 as lending agencies.\u00a0 They are entitled to lend credit against fixed deposits, <\/span>gold, and government securities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Profit Allocation to the Members :<\/strong> The profit or\u00a0 income generated\u00a0 by the\u00a0 farmer producer\u00a0 company (FPC) remains\u00a0 within\u00a0 the\u00a0 organization\u00a0 and\u00a0 is\u00a0 distributed\u00a0 among\u00a0 the\u00a0 serving <\/span>members of the FPC.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">N<strong>o Taxes on the Agricultural Income :<\/strong> As\u00a0 such,\u00a0 no\u00a0 taxes\u00a0 are\u00a0 levied\u00a0 on\u00a0 the profit\u00a0 generated by\u00a0 the Producer Company.
